Time is nudging the City to Surf and so many people are keen to either do it for the first time or just do it again. Whatever the reason make sure you are well prepared. Of course you have already been training and working on the programs available to have you up to speed. A few tips to help:
Get checked out by you Physiotherapist to ensure your readiness to participate safely.
Maintain a healthy and nourishing diet in the lead up to the event.
Dont forget the carbohydrate rich meal the night before.
Hydrate well before the event starts and dont wait for the signs of dehydration to occur in the race, make good use of the drink stations along the way.
Have fun, warm up before hand and a good stretching program after the initial recovery phase is a good idea.
